1. Prizegiving’s will take place for the Committee of Management Prize, Captain’s Prize, President’s Prize, and Captains’ Drive-In on the evening of the competition. All other men’s competition prizes will be on designated Prizegiving nights.
2. All prize-winners are requested to attend prizegiving’s and will be informed via text message and/ or e-mail, and a notification on the men’s noticeboard. If prize-winners are unable to attend, a nominee should attend instead.
3. There will be no presentation of prizes for winter competitions. Prizes in voucher form will be placed in the members’ correspondence area on the Club noticeboard, marked for the player’s attention.
4. All prizes must be collected within 4 weeks of the presentation; if prizes are not in this timeframe, they will be forfeited.
5. The designated scorecard box for competitions is in the Men’s locker room adjacent to the computer unless otherwise stated.
6. Please indicate on the scorecard if you are a senior (55 and over) or junior by adding “S” or “J”.

a. Junior is defined by their membership category for the current year

b. Senior is defined by their age (55 or over) on the competition date

i. Where there are competitions ran over multiple rounds the senior age is based on age on day of first round of the competition.

7. Members must report to the Pro-shop for entry into Club/Open Competitions, were Official Competition Score Cards will be issued. (Major competitions, Charity Days/Fund Raisers and Fun Competitions may have alternative arrangements.) 

8. All cards in Club and Open competitions (complete or not) must be returned in the designated score card box and (if applicable) returned on the computer no later than 20 minutes after completion of play. Members who are in breach of this rule will be disqualified from the competition and shall be suspended from the next club competition. Members who commit subsequent breaches within the calendar year may have their handicap suspended for a period of at least one month.

9. If the computer is not working, players must still return their card. Please indicate this by writing “COMPUTER NOT WORKING” on the scorecard. Handicap Index & Playing Handicap must be on the scorecard.

10. Juniors with a WHS index of 19.9 or lower may play in and win any prize in all Open Competitions. Juniors may play in a Sunday Competition & compete for the Junior Prize only.  In keeping with our duty of care to juniors, they must be accompanied by an adult member of the club when playing in club competitions. This is to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, familiarity with golf etiquette and rules and ongoing education on best practice in the game of golf.  

11. Young Adult members and Staff members with a Golf Ireland handicap may play in all Club/Open Competitions. Young Adult and Staff members are eligible to win any prize except the 1st prize or the junior prize in Club Competitions.

12. To win any prize in Captain’s Prize, President’s Prize, Lady Captain’s Prize to Men, Lady President’s Prize to Men, Committee of Management Prize, Christmas Hamper (Junior Prize will be allocated) a member must have a fully developed Handicap Index, ie a minimum of 20 scores on their Golf Ireland scoring record of which 5 need to be qualifying competitions played in Mullingar Golf Club in the previous 12 months.

13. To win any prize in Weekend Competitions, a member must have a fully developed Handicap Index, i.e. a minimum of 20 scores on their Golf Ireland scoring record.

14. To compete in any Men’s Branch Competition, a player must be a member of Mullingar Golf Club.

15. A Playing Handicap Limit of 28 will be set for winners in any category of the Captain’s Prize, President’s Prize, Lady Captain’s Prize to Men, Lady President’s Prize to Men, Committee of Management Prize, Christmas Hamper and Weekend Competitions.

16. Introductory Members may compete but may not win First prize in the above-listed competitions.

17. Country Members/Overseas Members may play in all Club/Open Competitions, except for the following: the above-listed competitions and Fr. Pat Dunne Mixed Foursomes, Men’s Singles Matchplay.
